A Positive Report Card: Edublox Franchise Satisfaction Survey
Franchize Directions is an independent franchise consultancy who was commissioned by the Edublox Franchisor to conduct a Franchisee Satisfaction Survey. The research required each franchisee to complete a comprehensive questionnaire on the performance and head office support of the Edublox business. Its primary objective is to provide Edublox management with franchisee feedback on specific aspects of the Edublox franchise system. This information is constructively used in the spirit of continuous learning to identify areas of opportunities for improvement and acknowledge where the company is doing well.
The questionnaire was completed anonymously by the 17 franchisees in operation. They also had the opportunity to comment on each of the elements of the questionnaire. The results of the survey were presented to all the franchisees in July 2013 by Franchize Directions at the two-yearly Edublox franchise conference.
The key highlights are:
- Feedback regarding financial support is positive on the whole. Franchisees are very positive about this support which indicates value is being provided by the franchisor in the way of one-on-one consultation and benchmarking.
- Relationship strength: Results reflected are clearly above average for the relationship between franchisor and franchisee.
- Majority have a very positive perception and opinion regarding the value of the training and support to franchisees.
- The response to the brand image is very positive and this should be capitalised upon. As a young brand at only three years old with only 17 outlets in context this is very positive.
- The majority of franchisees feel they have the freedom to exercise their entrepreneurial ability.
Areas that have been identified for further development include:
- Financial management training is recommended for franchisees who feel they could be more effective in their management of an Edublox franchise.
- It is clear that franchisees believe the economy has had an adverse effect on their business. Plans for how to deal with this are needed.
- General marketing of the brand in order to further enhance the Edublox brand name to become a household name (this is also achieved as the expansion of the network continues).
In closing, franchisees are enjoying what they are doing, they are passionate about the concept, and especially the academic results and progress that is evident in the children. Edublox as franchisor is to be congratulated on these survey results as it compares very positively to other franchisee surveys completed.
