Quality Edublox Lessons = Quality Learning ResultsAll Edublox tutors are given regular feedback on how well they present Edublox classes. Internet cameras are used to record lessons and lessons are reviewed and rated according to a structured reporting format. The lessons are rated on a 4-point scale with the highest rating being a 4 and the lowest a 1. If a tutor receives a 3-rating it means that the lesson was presented according to the required standards, while a 2-rating means a few mistakes were made that are then rectified through providing specific advice or retraining. A 4-rating means the quality of the lesson was absolutely exceptional the steps of all the exercises were presented correctly, the duration and timing of the exercises were excellent, the difficulty level was spot-on, and the X-factor was achieved. The X-factor refers to creating an extraordinary learning environment by, for example, being enthusiastic and consistent, applying sound discipline, challenging learners effectively to give their best, using relevant humour to create fun, and lastly, being confident and compassionate. In short, an Oscar-winning teaching performance! It is therefore quite an accomplishment to achieve a 4-rating. In the first quarter of 2014 more than 100 lessons were rated and eight tutors received a 4-rating. All the tutors who received a 4-rating are in contention to win an R750 gift voucher every quarter. The winner is determined by a random draw of the names of those who had achieved a 4-rating. This world-class practice of recording selected lessons on video, providing tutors with valid and constructive feedback and rewarding excellent tutors, goes a long way towards explaining why 89 percent of our customers are convinced that Edublox markedly improves academic performance.
