Drama with Edublox Tutors

At Edublox we regard every tutor as an actor or performer, with the classroom as their stage, and the learners as the audience. Every lesson that a tutor presents is a live performance and as actors they strive to give an outstanding performance every time. The applause is represented by the learning achieved. The script of the performance is the cognitive exercises and the style of the performance is a mixture of light-hearted comedy and adventure, rooted in reality.

The experience of the audience should be one of feeling safe, having some fun, and to be challenged to learn as much as possible. To make this happen the tutors as actors have three tools at their disposal namely their face, body and voice. During the training of the tutors a professional actor is employed to teach tutors how to best use these tools when performing in the Edublox theatre of learning.

The tutors have to act out specific behaviours to create a learning atmosphere where there is a total belief about each child’s ability and potential. The behaviours include being enthusiastic, self-confident and when necessary provide structure and discipline with compassion. Appropriate humour is encouraged and so is challenging learners to do their utmost.

To reward our tutors for their outstanding performances internet cameras are used to record lessons. Lessons are reviewed and rated according a structured reporting format. Every quarter, all the tutors who have received the highest rating are in contention to win a R750 gift voucher. The winner is determined by a random draw.
